The challenge
A producer staffing a crew has about an afternoon to fill a department. They want to see what the production designer built on Letterkenny or Predator, and they want it without reading a bio first. Karin Martin has represented that kind of talent for thirty years, and her roster now runs to twenty-seven artists across seven departments, cinematography through set decoration. A list of names and a folder of PDFs couldn't carry that. Speed mattered, and so did her voice.
What we did
- 1
Frames before bios
Reel first, then the poster wall. Every artist page runs both at full width on black, with credits, IMDB and resume links under the name.
- 2
Sort by department
The Talent Library splits the roster seven ways. A producer hunting a DP sees six names and skips the other twenty-one.
- 3
Karin in her own words
Her bio runs the homepage in her own voice, horses and rescued raccoons included, because she talks like that on the phone and the page should too.
The outcome
Producers land on a page that looks like the work behind it. One click from the Talent Library to the reel. Karin's voice survived, horses and all. She can add a new artist in Squarespace the day they sign, without a developer in the loop.
